Human Resources Manager

Responsibilities:

Employee Relations:

  • Guide managers and employees through employee relations issues.
  • Effectively communicate and interpret HR policies and practices.
  • Coach and develop skills in managers in handling complex employee issues as well as large-scale organizational issues.

Staffing/Selection:

  • Work closely with leaders to define needed competencies and capabilities for the workforce (short and long term).
  • Partner with the recruiting team to select/hire high performing employees.

Energize and create a high performance culture:

  • Build an inclusive, engaged, high performance culture.
  • Support and effectively coach employees and leaders.
  • Identify opportunities to increase organizational effectiveness through coaching/facilitation (i. e. increased management competence, change agent, teamwork, communication, career development, etc.).
  • Ensure that the organization consistently values and recognizes employees.

Development and training:

  • Assist in defining and implementing a focused learning and development strategy for the organization.
  • Develop functional, managerial and leadership capabilities to maximize the full potential of employees.
  • Work with organization leaders to identify and develop successors for critical positions within the organization.

Staffing/Selection:

  • Work closely with leaders to define needed competencies and capabilities for the workforce (short and long term).
  • Partner with the recruiting team to select/hire high performing employees.
  • Provide on-going guidance and support for compensation processes (salary planning, short and long term incentive programs). Ensure compensation processes are competitive with market practice.
  • Interpret and provide recommendations utilizing market data and internal equity data for business partners.
  • Continually review business client s compensation strategy to ensure that Dendreon retains and recognizes key talent.
  • Manage promotion processes to ensure that promotion criteria is consistently understood, communicated and utilized throughout the organization.

Qualifications

  • Education: Must possess a Bachelors degree. MS or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience to include: HR generalist, recruiting/staffing, program/project management, and policy/process development.
  • Excellent communication abilities required
  • Must have strong leadership and coaching skills
  • Requires experience working as a member of a leadership team
  • Must have good facilitation skills: group training and organization effectiveness programs
  • Able to work independently and in cross functional teams
  • Able to plan and execute projects.
  • Must be extremely flexible and have the ability to manage multiple projects with a strong attention to detail.
  • Must be able to generate reports/information from HR systems and use the information to guide decisions.
  • Must exhibit the highest level of professionalism in dealing with confidential information.
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours to meet customer demand.
    Non-standard work hours 1 - 2 days a week required to meet manufacturing schedule.
  • PC skills required: Microsoft Office: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
